Leading the green future: EdgeConneX Jakarta, Santiago and Brussels data centers secure major landfill diversion certifications
HERNDON, VA – February 3, 2025 – EdgeConneX®, a pioneer in global Build-to-suit and Build-to-density data center solutions, proudly announces that its Santiago, Chile campus, Brussels, Belgium, and Jakarta, Indonesia, data centers have achieved Landfill 
Diversion Validations from UL Solutions, marking a significant step in its commitment to a sustainable future. These accomplishments align with the company’s mission to create carbon-neutral, zero-waste, and water-neutral operations by 2030.
UL Solutions’ globally recognized UL 2799, the Environmental Claim Validation Procedure (ECVP) for Zero Waste to Landfill rigorously evaluates waste diversion from landfills or incineration without energy recovery, helping to ensure that facilities meet industry-led sustainability standards. EdgeConneX achieved validation to UL 2799 for the following claim, 77% diversion rate and 29% waste-to-energy rate at the Santiago campus. In addition, the Brussels data center achieved an exceptional 100% diversion rate, with 11% waste-to-energy recovery. The Jakarta facility also joined the ranks, attaining a 78% diversion rate away from landfill or incineration without energy recovery.
